Grimsmo

John Grimsmo started teaching himself CNC machining in a garage in Ontario in 2008. His brother Erik joined him. They documented every step on YouTube — the cuts, the mistakes, the tolerances — and built a following that became a company.

Norwegian by heritage, their great-great-grandfather ran sawmills in Kristiansund; building things from raw material is apparently in the blood. Their production Norseman and Rask models became the most-watched folders in Canada, with queues to match.

This custom recurve in carbon fiber is a different matter entirely — a one-off, built outside the queue, at tolerances most production shops cannot approach.
