Jens Ansø

Jens Ansø is a Danish industrial designer who has been making knives since 1988 — long before the custom folder world caught up to what he was doing. Founded formally in 2001, Ansø of Denmark operates from a windswept corner of rural Denmark and produces work that reads as Scandinavian design logic applied without compromise to the folding knife form.

He is credited as the originator of the “pimped” G-10 texture style that permeates the industry, though his own work has long since moved into milled titanium and precision bearing systems. The designs are deceptively quiet — no ornamentation, no theatre — until you hold one and realize the ergonomics are flawless and the action is tuned to the millimeter.
